It looks like those good people over at Which? are looking out for us once again, as their newest report condemns the makers of cereals for packing them full of the sweet stuff. In their Cereal Offenders report they reveal a whopping 92 out of 200 cereals were allocated with an FSA red or amber light for sugar content. Salt content was a little lighter, with 77 cereals getting a red or amber light.
Which? is most concerned about the 28 cereals aimed towards the little ones - where all 28 were to high in sugar. For example Kellogg’s Ricicles have a teeth rotting 37 grams per 100 grams. In Morrisons Choco Crackles, which have now been reformulated, there was 38 grams of sugar in every 100 grams.
And just one measly cereal got the green light from the FSA for all their healthy nutrients - low sugar, salt, fat and saturated fat. Unfortunately that accolade goes to Nestle Shredded Wheat - the most tasteless, horribly textured cereal… in the world. Well, in my humble opionio anyway.
So, ok we do need sugar and salt to give flavour - food needs to be appetising after all - but come on oh ye great cereal producers, your £1.37 billion a year industry does not need to put all that sugar in. Reduce it - bit keep the flavour!

It sounds like you’re creating problems yourself by trying to solve this issue instead of looking at why their is a problem in the first place
