Anybody who has even considered the diet pill market will have seen the thousands upon thousands of offers available on the internet – all reasonably priced and offering you a new slimmer look and a new life. But do any of these actually work?
The internet was a god send for many of these diet pill companies who are now able market their wonder drugs to the whole world, from areas of the globe where there is little or no regulation of their operations – something which must start to ring alarm bells for any prospective customers. While it is unfair to say that all of the diet pills on the market do not work, it is safe to say that 99% of the so called wonder drugs are either a con or they have potentially serious side effects. Then again, that is actually assuming that you get the pills you paid for with many people reporting the fact they paid for goods which never arrived!
While more and more people are blaming the authorities for a lack of support the fact remains that the number of people who report problems with these sites is only the tip of the iceberg, with many people ashamed or embarrassed to admit that they have been duped. Obesity is one of the areas of society which is open to the rogue traders as more and more people struggle with their weight. The fact remains that there is no quick fix to weight loss, it requires a reduction in food intake and an increase in exercise – it is not rocket science.
Until people actually appreciate that there is no magic cure for obesity these diet pill websites will continue to prey upon those often most vulnerable in society. While the doctors keep warning against quick fix solutions and the problems associated with them it seems that more and more people are being duped each year, with unscrupulous “business people” raking in millions of dollars.
