If you are overweight and suffering from obesity, then there are fair chances that you may contract obesity related diseases like diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure etc.  However, you need some amount of body fat for heat insulation, shock absorption and for some other vital functions of your body. If you are a woman, you may be having more body fat than men as woman tend to gain fat easily. In general, the proportion of your body fat to your body weight should be between 25 to 30 percent in case you are a woman and 18 to 23 percent if you are a man. In case you exceed the specified limit then you can declare yourself obese.

Scientifically obesity occurs when your caloric intake of food is more than the amount of energy required by your body. In other words, when your input surpasses your output, then you gain weight due to the excessive amount of fat stored under your skin. However, there are various other reasons which may cause the imbalance between input and output of calories in your body.

Your obesity may also be due to the genetic and heredity factors apart from lifestyle and dietary habits which also play an important role in obesity. The environmental factor also plays some part in your genetic make up. Though it will not be possible for you to change your genetic experience, you can change the way you eat. You can easily lose weight and maintain body weight by physical activity and by eating a well-balanced diet. 

Of late, it has been found that there is a relation between obesity and colon, which get backed up with mucus like a tar. When the substance coats the colon in your body, your energy and health is challenged as the food that you eat will not be properly absorbed by the body and also the amount of toxic substances in your body increases considerably.

But, don’t blame your genes alone as the prime cause of your obesity. You should also look at the environment you live including your lifestyle. Ask yourself how often you eat, what you eat and how active you are. If you lead a sedentary life style, then you are more likely to be obese than those who have genetic obesity. Various drugs and therapies to cure obesity are introduced in the market everyday as more and more people in the world are coming under the obese category. With the help of medicines only few can reduce their body weight. Only when they lead a disciplined life, they can fight obesity.

Though losing weight and maintaining it may look a bit harder for you, you can easily accomplish it by changing your eating and dietary habits. If you are active and follow a strict diet regime, you can find some success in reducing your body weight. So, analyze the factors that cause obesity and build your perfect body to prevent those lifestyle diseases!
